Who controls the data
Backgammon.ru is an independent game and learning project. Until a separate legal entity is established, the project owner operates the service. The official contact channel is the support form on this website.
Data we process
You can play the computer and use public lessons without signing in. Some anonymous progress stays only on your device.
- ChatGPT sign-in data: email address and available profile name.
- Game data: rating, results, moves, rooms, tournaments and dice verification records.
- Learning data: completed lessons, answers, reviews and personal training positions.
- Player safety data: account blocks you choose, reports containing a room code and preset reason, warnings, temporary restrictions, appeal text and the appeal outcome. These records are available only to the parties involved in the review and the project owner. Message muting stays only on your device.
- Support data: your message and a contact address when supplied.
- Optional product analytics after consent: a random session ID, journey step, language, broad device class and acquisition-channel category. Product events do not store the full URL, search query, referring domain, email, message text or IP address.
Why we use it
We use data to operate accounts, restore games, calculate ratings, run tournaments, save learning progress, answer support requests, prevent abuse and improve the product. We do not sell personal data or create advertising profiles.
Public information
Ratings and tournaments display player names, results and ratings. Email addresses must not be sent to the public interface. Public replays contain game events and dice verification, not sign-in details.
Storage and providers
Structured data is stored in the project database on Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Sign-in is provided by ChatGPT. Infrastructure providers may process an IP address and request details in standard security logs; Backgammon.ru does not use them for advertising.
We retain data while necessary to operate the service, resolve disputes and protect security, or until you delete the account. Anonymised match records may remain for tournament integrity and fair-play verification. Anonymous product events are automatically deleted after 90 days, used only in aggregate reports and are not linked to an account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for access, correction, restriction or deletion through support. After a deletion request, data is retained for a 30-day account-recovery period. Personal progress and the profile are then removed, while linked tournament and match records are anonymised. Optional analytics can be allowed or disabled in Privacy settings; declining does not limit the product.

Personal areas require authentication, ownership checks run on the server and email addresses are not published. We may update this policy as the product changes; the effective date at the top will change too.
